31 July 2024- Ambassador Ezzedin Tago met with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Djibouti- H.E. M. Mahdi Absieh Bouh, Director of the Bilateral Relations Department; H.E. Ayane Said Yassin, Director of the Legal Affairs and Consular Department; and Mr. Mohamed Hassan Mohamed Sougal, Deputy Director for Asia and Oceania Affairs.
During the meeting Amb. Tago and said officials discussed implementation of current agreements between the Philippines and Djibouti as well as other possible areas of cooperation. Amb. Tago also shared the Philippine’s position on the West Philippine Sea and reiterated request for support for the Philippines’ candidature in the United Nations Security Council.
The Philippines and Djibouti celebrated 26 years of diplomatic relations in 26 February 2024. One hundred thirty-two (132) Filipinos in Djibouti are registered in the Embassy’s online registration database, bit.ly/OFDjibouti . END
