On 05 February 2024, Amb. Ezzedin Tago met with Prof. Saad Moussa, Undersecretary, Supervisor of Foreign Agricultural Relations and Central Administration of Plant Quarantine (CAPQ) of the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and discussed initiatives and projects that will boost trade of agriculture products between the Philippines and Egypt.
The Egyptian side expressed enthusiasm following the finalization of the Work Plan for the importation of Egyptian citrus products into the Philippines, which commenced effectivity in June 2023. Both the Embassy and CAPQ agreed that more can be done to boost Philippines-Egypt bilateral trade of new agriculture products, such as grapes, potatoes, durian, onion and garlic.
