24 September 2024- The Philippine Embassy in Cairo participated in the ASEAN Brown Bag Session at the American University in Cairo (AUC). The Embassy was represented by Ms. Crystal Ann Dunuan, Third Secretary and Ms. Diane Khrystene Ocarino, Cultural Attache. Representatives from the other eight (8) ASEAN countries with missions in Egypt were also in attendance.
During the session moderated by Dr. Ismaeel Tharwat and Dr. Hisham Wahby, three (3) student groups presented their research topics on the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), focusing on digital economy, trade agreements and the role of small and medium enterprises (SME) in the region. Meanwhile, audience members were undergraduate and graduate students from the AUC’s Economics Development Department.
This is the third ASEAN Brown Bag Session at the AUC with the first taking place in March 2023 and featuring the participation of ASEAN Heads of Missions of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. END
