THE PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN EGYPT RECEIVE AWARDS DURING THE 126TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

05 July 2024- The Philippine Embassy in Egypt received awards during the recently held 126th Founding Anniversary of the Department of Foreign Affairs in Pasay City, Philippines.


Ambassador Ezzedin Tago received the Gawad Mabini- Rank of Dakilang Kamanong Commander. Mr. Bojer Capati, the Embassy’s former Second Secretary and Consul, received the Gawad Mabini- Rank of Dakilang Kasugo Commander. The Gawad Mabini, which is named after Apolinario Mabini who was the first Secretary of Foreign Affairs is, is conferred by the President to personnel of the DFA for their exemplary service to the people and nation.


Meanwhile, Consul Tarig El-Nefeidi of the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Sudan was recognized as one of the DFA’s outstanding employees. The Embassy was also among those awarded under the Assistance to Nationals (ATN) group category.


The Embassy received the above awards for its crucial role in the repatriation of Filipinos from Sudan and Gaza in 2023.


Finally, Mr. Ricardo Idio, an Embassy locally hired staff, was one of those recognized for their 35 years of service. END
